Singulair 10 mg 28 Tabs For Asthma

*For adults and adolescents 15 years of age and older:
*The recommended dose is one 10 mg tablet to be taken daily in the evening.
*If you are taking Singulair, be sure that you do not take any other products that contain the same
active ingredient, montelukast.
*This medicine is for oral use.
*You can take Singulair 10 mg with or without food.

Montelukast,

Points of interest:
* Singulair tablets must be taken regularly for it to work well.
* Do not stop taking Singulair tablets unless instructed by your doctor.
* Your condition may worsen if the medicine is stopped suddenly. Montelukast cannot relieve an acute asthma attack.
* You should continue to keep your "rescue" inhaler by your side at all times.

Side effects of Singulair:
* Dizziness.
* Headache.
* Stomach discomfort such as nausea.
* Indigestion or diarrhoea.
* Tiredness and flu-like symptoms.

Cautions:
* Inform your doctor if you suffer from liver disease or phenylketonuria (a condition where the body lacks an enzyme to break down the amino acid phenylalanine).

Interactions of Singulair:
* If your asthma symptoms get worse when you take aspirin, avoid taking aspirin or other NSAIDs (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) while you are taking montelukast.


Indications:
* Singulair is used for the treatment of adults and adolescents 15 years of age and older who are
not adequately controlled on their medication and need additional therapy.
* Singulair also helps prevent the narrowing of airways triggered by exercise.
* Singulair can also provide symptomatic relief of seasonal allergic rhinitis.
