Kombiglyze XR 5/1000 mg Tabs 30'S For Diabetes

*The amount of Kombiglyze that you will take varies depending on your condition and the doses you currently take of metformin and/or individual tablets of saxagliptin and metformin.
*Your doctor will tell you exactly the dose of this medicine to take.
*The recommended dose is 1 tablet a day.
*If you have reduced kidney function, your doctor may prescribe a lower dose.
*Do not crush or chew the tablets.
*Take Kombiglyze tablet with food to lower the chance of having an upset stomach.
*To control your diabetes, you still need to diet and exercise, even when you are taking Kombiglyze tablets.

Saxagliptin, Metformin Hydrochloride

Side Effects:
* Headache.
* Muscle pain (myalgia).
* Being sick or indigestion (dyspepsia).
* Inflamed nose or throat such as with a cold or sore throat.
* Flatulence.
* Dizziness.
* Tiredness (fatigue).

Contraindications:
Do not take Kombiglyze
- If you are allergic to saxagliptin, metformin, or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
- If you have ever had a diabetic coma.
- If you have uncontrolled diabetes.
- If you have severely reduced kidney function or problems with your liver;
- If you have recently had a heart attack or if you have heart failure.
- If you have a severe infection or are dehydrated (have lost a lot of water from your body);
- If you are breastfeeding.

Cautions:
Stop taking Kombiglyze for a short time if you have a condition that may be associated with dehydration (significant loss of body fluids) such as:
severe vomiting, diarrhea, fever, exposure to heat, or if you drink less fluid than normal. Talk to your doctor for further instructions.
* Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Kombiglyze
- If you have type 1 diabetes (your body does not produce any insulin). This medicine should not be used to treat this condition;
- If you have or have had a disease of the pancreas;
- If you are taking insulin or an antidiabetic medicine known as ‘sulphonylurea’.
