Pinaverium bromide

Pinaverium belongs to the class of medications called gastrointestinal calcium antagonists It acts by relaxing the smooth muscle of the bowel.
Pinaverium bromide is an antispasmodic selectively acting on the gastrointestinal tract. It is a calcium antagonist which inhibits the influx of calcium into intestinal smooth muscle cells. pinaverium directly or indirectly reduces the effects of the stimulation of the sensitive afferences. It is free from anticholinergic effects. It is also devoid of effects on the cardiovascular system.

Indications:
• Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
• Abdominal pain
• Bowel disturbances
• Intestinal discomfort.
• Functional disorders of biliary tract.

How to store:
keep at room temperature.

Points of interest:
• Take this medication with food with glass of water.
• Do not crush or chew tablets.
Don’t take this medication while lying down or right before bedtime.
