Curly Hair Care Set

Curly hair is the first thing the school routine disturbs. Washes get rushed, there is chlorine from the pool, a borrowed brush in the changing room, and a bag strap rubbing at the ends. By the middle of the week the curl pattern has loosened and the frizz has taken over. This set is built to hold the shape through a full school term without adding minutes to the morning: one wash, one leave-in spray and one styling cream, in that order, and nothing else to remember.

What is in the box

• Vitalcare Professional Verve Ricci Curl Reviving Shampoo (Shampoo Ravviva Ricci) 500 ml — cleanses wavy and curly hair while elastin, collagen, panthenol and hydrolysed wheat protein coat each curl, so the pattern holds its shape and frizzes less.
• Lakme L2 Curls Instant Detangling Conditioner, Curly Hair, Leave-In, 300 ml — a two-phase spray at pH 3.5 with curl-defining resins that detangles instantly and holds the curl shape. It is a leave-in and is not rinsed out.
• Vitalcare Professional Verve Ricci Curl Reviving Cream 125 ml — a leave-in styling cream on a dimethicone base, with a curl-shaping polymer plus elastin and collagen, to hold the curl shape and keep it soft.

How to use it

• Step one, the wash — the Verve Ricci shampoo at every wash, worked through wet hair and rinsed out.
• Step two, the leave-in spray — shake the Lakme L2 Curls bottle so the two phases mix, then mist it over towel-dried hair to detangle it instantly, add shine and resist humidity. Leave it in. Between washes it can also be misted on dry hair to re-define curls.
• Step three, the cream — work two dollops of the Curl Reviving Cream through damp or dry hair after washing and leave it in.

Good to know

The spray and the cream both stay in the hair, so they do not compete with each other or with the wash: the spray goes on first, on wet or towel-dried hair, and the cream shapes on top of it. Expect easier combing from the first wash. The spray also works on its own between washes, on days when there is no time to start again from the shampoo.

Please note

Lakme L2 Curls is a leave-in and must not be rinsed out; treating it as an ordinary rinse-out conditioner removes the whole point of it. The Verve Ricci Curl Reviving Cream is likewise a leave-in styling cream, applied to damp or dry hair after washing. It is not a mask and not a rinse-off conditioner, and it should not be used as one.
